Gary is a licensed architect in California and received a Master in Design Studies from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Master of Architecture from the University at Buffalo.
Trained in both the US and China, Gary has been practicing from 2005 with internationally renowned architects including Frank Gehry and Richard Meier. He was also a guest lecturer at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2019.
Gary has led and worked on a variety of high profile projects for commercial and private clients, including Shanghai Tower, Kunming Apple Flagship Store, 9900 Wilshire Residence and Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, etc.
Gary’s ongoing research emphasizes on innovative building materials. He has conducted research at MIT and the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. His work has been published in Nature Reviews Materials, Urbanism & Architecture and the Digital Architecture Design Association (DADA) international conference proceedings.
